Adjunct Assistant Professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering and Materials Science
Dean's interests have a broad range under the umbrella of applied nonlinear dynamics. His graduate research came in two parts - high dimensional structural mechanics and hydrodynamic flow control. While he still works on these topics, he is interested in dynamic modeling of skeletal muscle tissue, fractional calculus in mechanical systems, and active matter.
