Intelligent and autonomous systems promise to impact future applications such as autonomous
driving, smart home technologies, and human-assisted robotics. Over the past years, there has been
tremendous success in the development of autonomous systems, which has especially been
accelerated by computationally-driven advances in machine learning. These advances, however,
have raised new fundamental questions concerning the safety and reliability of these increasingly
complex systems that often operate in unknown and highly unstructured environments. In this
seminar, I will provide new insights and exciting opportunities to address these challenges.
