Pushing the Boundaries of Efficiency
Pratt’s Eco-Marathon team participated in the Shell Eco-Marathon in Texas this past April and performed better than they ever have. They placed second in the prototype-battery electric car competition, beating out nearly 30 competitors with their ultra energy-efficient vehicle and achieving a personal best in efficiency of 498.9 km/kwhr.
This video features Anosh Sethna, president of the Eco-Marathon Club, explaining the steps taken to achieve the car’s peak performance. Also featured is Robert Kielb, professor of mechanical engineering and materials science at Pratt, who teaches the senior design class that helped the team test different body designs for aerodynamics.
